Patrícia Silva wins European bronze for Portugal

Portuguese athlete Patrícia Silva has won the bronze medal in the women's 1,500 metres at the European Athletics Championships in Birmingham.

It is the first time the Championships have been hosted in the UK, bringing together more than 1,600 athletes from 48 countries

Jorinde van Klinken became the first Dutch athlete to win a European discus title Friday, throwing 67.67 meters for gold at the European Athletics Championships in Birmingham.
