Parliament clears Bill to increase number of judges in Supreme Court

The Upper House cleared the bill and returned it to the Lok Sabha, it being a Money Bill.

The Lok Sabha passed the Supreme Court (Number of Judges) Amendment Bill, 2026. This bill seeks to increase the sanctioned strength of Supreme Court judges.
