Out-of-control Hawk Fire in Reno, Nevada keeping tens of thousands evacuated

Shifting winds challenged firefighters battling the out-of-control Hawk Fire in Reno, Nevada, that was keeping tens of thousands of people evacuated.

No deaths have been reported, but at least six people have been injured, including three first responders, with several mountaintop houses destroyed, according to local media.

Officials say the fire, which has now burned more than 15,000 acres and is zero percent contained, was human caused. Nearly 90,000 people have been told to evacuate or prepare to leave.

The Hawk Fire had devoured 15,040 acres by Sunday, just a day after it was first spotted northwest of “The Biggest Little City in the World."
