Iran and Oman will take part in a revenue-sharing agreement as part of the interim deal to reopen and control the Strait of Hormuz, Tehran's security forces said Wednesday.

Most shipping through the Strait of Hormuz has been disrupted, pushing global energy prices higher, while Iran and Oman continue negotiating an agreement over the waterway.

Iran and Oman have held talks for several weeks about controlling the traffic through the Strait of Hormuz.

A source familiar with the matter told The Jerusalem Post that suspected disagreements between the two countries remain.
