In a notable address in New York City, RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat stated that true Hindutva does not exclude Muslims from Bharat, asserting that any Hindu who believes otherwise ceases to be a Hindu

Mohan Bhagwat recounted an instance: "I had a lecture, and Muslim brothers were also there. And they asked me a question: 'You are a Hindu organisation, you say Hindu Rashtra, what about us Muslims?'... I said, 'No, that is not Hindutva'."
