North Korea fires up to 10 ballistic missiles toward sea, hours after Trump speaks of re-engagement

South Korea's presidential office condemned North Korea's launch of more than 10 short-range ballistic missiles on Thursday and ordered its military to maintain full readiness during ongoing joint ​exercises with the United States.

North Korea launched a suspected ballistic missile toward the sea on Thursday, Japan said, a day after North Korea shrugged off a U.S. decision to scale back military drills with South Korea in an apparent bid to resume diplomacy.

The military said the missiles were launched toward North Korea’s eastern waters.
