Nord Stream bomb suspect arrested while working on movie about attack: media

Police in Pula, Croatia, have arrested Volodymyr Zhuravlyov under a European arrest warrant put out by Germany, which is seeking his extradition.

The Ukrainian suspect had previously been held in Poland for his alleged role in destroying the pipelines but Warsaw refused to extradite him to Germany.

Volodymyr Zhuravlev, a Ukrainian citizen suspected of involvement in the bombing of the Nord Stream pipelines, was arrested in Croatia while working on a film about the sabotage, the German outlet LTO reported.

A second Ukrainian suspect has been arrested over an attack on the Nord Stream pipelines that were built to carry gas from Russia to Europe, German prosecutors say.

On Wednesday, German prosecutors said that Ukrainian national Vladimir Z. had been arrested in Pula, Croatia, over his alleged role in the 2022 Nord Stream pipeline explosions. A Ukrainian man was arrested Wednesday in Croatia in relation to undersea explosions that damaged the Nord Stream gas pipelines between Russia and Germany in 2022, Germany's federal prosecutor said.

FRANKFURT, Aug 19 - A second suspect accused of taking part in the 2022 Nord Stream gas pipeline blasts has been arrested in Croatia and will be extradited to Germany, said German prosecutors on Wednesday.
