Nick Reiner indicted on new murder charges in deaths of his parents

Nick Reiner, the son of Hollywood director Rob Reiner and Michele Reiner, pleaded not guilty to new charges Wednesday in the murder of his parents.

Nick Reiner pleaded not guilty to two counts of murder with special circumstances of multiple murders, lying in wait and using a "dangerous and deadly weapon, a knife."

LOS ANGELES (AP) — A Los Angeles County grand jury has indicted Nick Reiner on murder charges in the killings of his parents, actor Rob Reiner and Michele Singer Reiner, and adds the allegation that he was lying in wait before attacking them.

The indictment means there will be no public preliminary hearing with witness testimony ahead of a possible full-blown trial

Prosecutors also allege that Reiner personally used a knife in the commission of the crimes

If convicted, Reiner faces a sentence of life without parole. Prosecutors haven't said whether they'll seek capital punishment.
