Nick Kyrgios provisionally suspended from tennis after testing positive for cocaine

Former Wimbledon finalist Nick Kyrgios revealed on Wednesday he tested positive for cocaine and was provisionally suspended from tennis.

The controversial Australian player tested positive for a metabolite of cocaine at a tournament in June.

The 31-year-old, who reached the final at Wimbledon in 2022, failed a doping test during an ATP event in Mallorca on June 22.

“I recently failed a drug test in Mallorca after testing positive for cocaine,” he wrote.

Kyrgios said he had difficulties coming to terms with being near the end of his career after two years of injuries.
