A woman accused of launching a plot to set off an explosive at the New York State Capitol building in Albany is being charged with providing material support or resources to a foreign terrorist organization

A woman who authorities said had been plotting to bomb the New York State Capitol building because she believed laws were being passed that were an affront to Islam was caught in an FBI sting operation and is now facing a federal terrorism charge, authorities announced Thursday.

The department said Jessica Bowie, 35, was seen making visits to the state's Capitol grounds and taking photographs of the building.
