New CDC director pledges to ‘speak truth’ about science

The new director of the CDC Dr. Erica Schwartz said the agency is prepared to handle a variety of disease outbreaks, as the U.S. copes with the largest measles outbreak in 35 years.

Then new CDC director told staff she is “very comfortable and very confident ... [in] speaking truth to power.”
