Nepal flood miracle: Mother reunites with 8-year-old who climbed trees to survive

After a devastating glacier collapse and avalanche in Nepal, a mother believed she had lost her two sons forever. But against all odds, her 8-year-old son survived alone in the forest before being rescued and airlifted to safety, leading to an emotional reunion that has touched hearts across the country.

A day earlier, eight-year-old Zoyal Ghale had been airlifted out of the flood-affected northern district of Rasuwa with a broken leg and injuries to his face.

At least 17,000 children have been affected by the floods across Rasuwa, Nuwakot and Dhading districts north of Kathmandu, the U.N. children's agency UNICEF said
