Thousands are still missing as Chinese state media report the official number of fatalities in Tibet at 16.

About 600 people remain stuck in several devastated hydropower stations that have become the focus of rescue efforts, while Prime Minister Balendra Shah says over 11,000 people have been rescued across the affected region

Rescue efforts are also intensifying in Nepal and Tibet where thousands remain missing, including dozens of Americans, nearly a week after catastrophic floods there. Workers are struggling to reach communities devastated by the flood, including hundreds of workers trapped inside hydropower tunnels. NBC’s Janis Mackey F
