NAIMOS arrests 19 suspected illegal miners operating near Mpohor Fiase Police Station following JoyNews’ report

The National Anti-Illegal Mining Operations Secretariat (NAIMOS) has arrested 19 suspected illegal miners following reports of galamsey activities near the Mpohor Fiase Police Station in the Western Region.

It’s understood the Border Force officers have been deployed on several occasions as part of “law enforcement operations”

Speaking to NDTV, Sangrur Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Ravjot Grewal said the accused were motivated purely by money and were in direct contact with a foreign-based handler.
