Mozambique: Women, capulana dresses, and police violence stand out at Nampula protests

Women in Nampula turned the capulana into a symbol of resistance, while social media amplified protests, digital activism, and debates regarding state control and civic rights in Mozambique.

The court’s explanation came in response to an oral mentioning made by senior advocate Shobha Gupta who said there should be separate, sensitive mechanism for women protestors to file their complaints and seek legal action against police personnel.
