More than a dozen arrested, $6.5m worth of cannabis seized in Rotorua operation

The operation targeted residential rental properties used to house large-scale commercial cannabis growing operations involving Vietnamese organised crime groups.

Police say they have dismantled a large-scale commercial cannabis operation linked to organised crime, arresting 16 people and shutting down 14 grow houses across Rotorua.

Sixteen Vietnamese nationals were arrested in raids in Rotorua and Auckland.
