The brutal attack occurred on Sunday in the town of Kenscoff, Haiti in the hills above the capital.

A gang coalition stormed Kenscoff, killing at least 47 people and abducting others. The mayor describes a night of terror amid expanding gang control.

The latest attack comes as Haiti prepares for general elections scheduled for December 13 — the country's first in more than a decade. Voter registration is underway, but experts have warned that widespread insecurity could make holding credible elections extremely difficult.
