Montana man impales self on hiking pole, treks hours to reach hospital

The impaled climber travelled about 16 kilometres and descended roughly 5,000 feet over the course of six hours with the pole in his body.

Instead of calling for a helicopter rescue, David Cifaldi hiked down Montana's Granite Peak with a hiking pole piercing his side.
