Moderate David Crowley wins Wisconsin Democratic primary for governor

Milwaukee County Executive Director David Crowley is projected has won the Wisconsin Democratic primary for governor in an upset over Francesca Hong.

Crowley narrowly defeated democratic socialist Hong, who was hoping to ride the wave of recent victories by progressive candidates, including Abdul El-Sayed in neighboring Michigan's U.S. Senate race last week.

Hong, who in the past had called for the national holiday to be canceled, failed to draw socialist-leaning Democratic icons like Bernie Sanders and AOC, writes John Bowden. And her defeat shows that there could be limits to how far left progressives will go
