Lily Hooper was reported missing on 12 August after failing to return from a hike in a Sydney national park.

Search teams found the body of the teen this afternoon after a major search effort.

NSW Police have confirmed the body of a woman believed to be missing bushwalker Lily Hooper has been found after an eight-day search in the NSW Southern Highlands.

The family of missing 18-year-old bushwalker Lily Hooper say they are “absolutely devastated” as a major search continues in rugged bushland south-west of Sydney.

The boat set out from the Odalarevu jetty on August 3 and was expected back by August 12; the Chief Minister asked the Coast Guard, the Fisheries Department and the district administration to keep searching until it is traced
