Mining communities must be treated as development partners and economy shareholders – Sammy Gyamfi

Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod), Sammy Gyamfi, has called for greater local ownership and participation in Ghana’s mining industry, arguing that communities where mineral resources are extracted must benefit more directly from the wealth generated.

Mining rights secure access, social licence secures legitimacy; without trust, investments falter, communities fracture, reputations perish and livelihoods vanish altogether.
