MINETTE BATTERS: What dustbowl Britain means for food supplies and the cost of your weekly shop

When I look out of the window of my farmhouse in Wiltshire, all I can see is a giant biscuit-coloured dustbowl. In a quarter of a century of working this land, I've never known conditions like it.

At the next election, for the good of our nation and to finally alleviate the ‘cost of living crisis’, the Conservative Party should stand on a credible plan to change direction on public spending. We need to inspire a future where we have lower taxes.
