Millions Gather To Watch Spain's 1st Total Solar Eclipse In Over A Century

Across a wide band of northern and central Spain and Portugal, millions of people enjoyed some of mainland Europe's best views of the eclipse. It also passed over slivers of Greenland and Iceland.

A total solar eclipse crossed Iceland, Britain and parts of the European continent, drawing crowds to watch the event.

The eclipse, a first in mainland Europe since 2006, also cast its shadow through parts of Greenland, racing south to smother part of Iceland before arcing across the Atlantic Ocean towards northern Spain.
