It comes as the United Arab Emirates claims one of its ships was targeted by an Iranian missile.

The Supreme National Security Council said the Strait of Hormuz will not open until the United States "corrects its behavior."

A U.S. official, who declined to be identified, said on Friday that Washington anticipated an agreement soon between Iran and Oman, which sit on either side of the strait, so that normal oil traffic could resume.
