Meta, Google Online Child Safety Rules Advance in US Senate

A key Senate committee on Wednesday advanced a package of bills aimed at improving children’s safety online, teeing up a showdown with the House over whether to hold Meta Platforms Inc. and Alphabet Inc.’s Google liable for harms done to minors on their social media platforms.
