Met Éireann issues warning of potential flash floods in some areas

Wednesday is set to be cooler than recent days, with some heavy rain showers in places. While the rain may dampen the possibility of wildfires breaking out again, Met Éireann has issued a status yellow rainfall warning with the possibility of flash floods, particularly in the northwest. The National Weather Service warns that heavy storms battering the area could reach as much as 2 inches per hour in New York City and Nassau County.

New York City officials warned residents of heavy rainfall and flooding potential, advising travel restrictions and precautions for basement dwellers.
