Maryland's lone congressional Republican blasts Moore's redistricting push as alleged 2028 White House play

Rep. Andy Harris claims Gov. Wes Moore is pushing a Maryland ballot amendment to eliminate his district in furtherance of presidential ambitions.

Maryland Democrats voted this week to place a constitutional amendment on the November ballot that would pave the way for eliminating the state’s lone Republican-held congressional district before the 2028 election. The measure passed largely along party lines, clearing the House of Delegates 96-38 and the Senate 32-13

Currently, Republicans only hold one of the state’s eight house seats. Democrats stand to gain total control of Maryland's congressional delegation if voters approve the redistricting measure on the ballot.
