A 12-year-old boy and a 43-year-old man from the United States have been critically injured in a multi-vehicle crash on Highway 403 in Mississauga.

State Highway 30 at Awakeri has been reduced to one lane following the early-morning crash.

Police say one person was trapped in one of the vehicles and has had to be extracted.

The collision happened on the R169 between Dunleer and Collon at around 2.45pm this afternoon.
