A 63-year-old man who inexplicably set himself on fire Friday in the lobby of a Lower Manhattan office building has been arrested and charged with arson, the New York Police Department announced Saturday.

John Butch, 63, has been arrested for arson after self-immolating in a Lower Manhattan building housing Google.

He has been charged with criminal mischief, arson and reckless endangerment, police said.

The individual is believed to have set himself on fire at a building at 315 Hudson Street shortly before 3pm, sources told the New York Daily News .
