The two teams were playing through a monsoon at the Santiphap Stadium in Narathiwat province when lightning struck the rain-soaked pitch.

The incident took place on Tuesday (Aug 4) evening during the semi-final match of the regional Golok FA Cup football tournament at Santiphap Stadium in Thailand’s Narathiwat province.
