Kellogg to remove artificial dyes from cereals by end of this year

WK Kellogg said Thursday that it will remove artificial colors from all its cereals by the end of this year.

The Michigan-based WK Kellogg company vowed Thursday to remove artificial coloring from its cereals by the end of 2026, the decision coming as President Donald Trump's administration has been working to Make America Healthy Again (MAHA).

The change comes a year ahead of schedule. Kellogg said last August that it would remove synthetic colouring from its cereals by the end of 2027.

The company said Thursday it has identified fruit- and vegetable-based juices that will give cereals like Froot Loops and Apple Jacks their distinctive colours.

The cereal maker will also remove the preservative BHT from its packaging, completing both changes before the end of this year

Kellogg had promised natural dyes by 2027, but Target and Walmart's own deadlines just pushed it to beat its own timeline.
