Kalshi says Santos did not cooperate with its investigation into bets he placed on his own attendance at the State of the Union. The company also fined the disgraced congressman more than $71,000.

A federal regulator accused the former Republican congressman of unlawfully betting on whether he would attend President Donald Trump’s State of the Union address.

Following the ban, Santos said "thanks for the lifetime ban from your gambling platform," in a post on X.

Santos, who was expelled from the ​House of Representatives in 2023, was also fined by the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission a month ago for alleged market manipulation over the incident.

Kalshi has announced a lifetime ban against disgraced former Rep. George Santos, as well as penalties against three political candidates who bet on their own races.

The disciplinary action comes two months after the Commodity Futures Trading Commission settled charges against Santos.
