Judge rules Trump effort to deport pro-Palestinian students unlawful

"Stated plainly, freedom of speech belongs to the people," a federal judge wrote. "It is not the government’s to take."

The judge said that in the United States, free speech, including the freedom to criticize the government and its leaders, was evidence of the strength of the country's democracy.
