In a major blow to the U.S. case against Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, the man accused of plotting the Sept. 11 attacks, the military judge rules his confessions were not voluntary.

Prosecutors argued the statements by the defendant, Khalid Shaikh Mohammed, were crucial evidence for the eventual death-penalty trial.
