Italy extends Schengen suspension with Spain

Italy is suspending its open-border arrangements with Spain for another 15 days, extending restrictions it imposed after a mass ‌rush of migrants into the Spanish enclave of Ceuta a month ago.

Italy and Spain announced on Monday a 15-day extension of reciprocal border checks imposed in a spat over a migrant rush last month into the Spanish north African territory of Ceuta.

Italy has extended border checks it first introduced with Spain after the Ceuta migrant crisis for another 15 days, but signaled it’s ready to reconsider the measures soon.
