Israel's military resumed strikes on southern Lebanon despite ongoing talks, blaming a ceasefire violation by militant group Hezbollah as Beirut said at least one person was killed.

Technical teams from Israel and Lebanon began a second round of U.S.-facilitated talks in Rome on Tuesday, with the negotiations set to run through Thursday, according to the U.S. State Department.

Qassem said that the talks would bring "nothing but shame, humiliation, and successive compromises" for Lebanon.
