Iran’s IRGC claims complete control of Hormuz as US forces redirect 82 ships under blockade

The naval force of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) declared on Saturday that it retains “complete control” over the Strait of Hormuz, asserting that the waterway will remain closed to vessels attempting to cross without coordination with Tehran as the US military continues to enforce a naval blockade.

Iran's IRGC claims decisive control over the Strait of Hormuz as the US maintains its naval blockade.

The Prime Minister of U.S.-ally Qatar is in Iran for talks on Thursday as part of efforts to "de-escalate tensions" between Tehran and Washington.

The latest development comes amid US President Donald Trump's threat to bomb Oman if it “gets in the way", as his administration opposes parts of the evolving deal.
