Iran, Oman hammer out Hormuz revenue-sharing deal

Iran said it had reached a revenue-sharing deal with Oman on the Strait of Hormuz, but disagreements reportedly remain between the two countries.

Iran and Oman will take part in a revenue-sharing agreement as part of the interim deal to reopen and control the Strait of Hormuz, Tehran's security forces said Wednesday.

Iran and Oman have held talks for several weeks about controlling the traffic through the Strait of Hormuz.

Iran and Oman, both coastal states on the strait, have for weeks been discussing the future of navigation through the waterway, with Tehran saying the geographical coordinates of a route envisaged by the two countries "have been agreed upon".
