More than 30 nations, including France, Britain and Canada, have condemned Iran's use of capital punishment, saying in a joint statement on Wednesday the Islamic republic was executing protesters to "silence dissent".

Executions in Iran have surged following nationwide anti-government protests in January and the US-Israeli war launched the following month.
