Iran makes new Strait of Hormuz demands as UAE says ship was targeted

Attacks in the Strait of Hormuz today have put negotiations on tenterhooks.

A U.S. official, who declined to be identified, said on Friday that Washington anticipated an agreement soon between Iran and Oman, which sit on either side of the strait, so that normal oil traffic could resume.

Iran's military stressed that the crucial waterway would only be reopened when the U.S. accepts Iran's conditions.

Iran's National Security Council says the start will not reopen until the U.S."corrects its behavior."

The Supreme National Security Council said the US must never threaten Iran again and permanently end the war with Iran and its armed allies.
