Hundreds escape Greek wildfire by sea as blazes continue across Europe

Around 500 people, mostly tourists, are evacuated by boat from Agios Vasileios after becoming trapped.

Three firefighters were killed as wildfires swept Greece while fires in Spain, France and Portugal forced thousands of residents and tourists to evacuate.

In southern France a wildfire in the region of Gironde is still active, while two major fires in central Spain are finally coming under control, ahead of the fourth heat wave of the summer.
