At least four migrant girls under the age of 14 have been treated at Ceuta University Hospital after alleged sexual assaults following last week's influx of migrants into Spain's north African exclave.

According to police, the girl had gone to a park near her home on Wednesday afternoon to play on the swings. Later, a relative informed the family that the child was lying unconscious in the park.

Ceuta has established an impromptu "shelter in a soccer field" for women and girls hiding from the thousands of majority-Muslim, male migrants who have refused to leave the city since last week's invasion, the Spanish newspaper El Mundo revealed on Thursday.
