MANILA, Philippines – The House prosecution panel on Monday, the 17th day of Vice President Sara Duterte’s impeachment trial, asked the Senate impeachment court to subpoena three Armed Forces of the Philippines officials: Col. Manaros Boransing II, Col. Magtanggol Panopio, and Col. Adonis Bajao, for Wednesday, Aug. 26.

Acosta’s admission that she handed over confidential funds to somebody else in violation of government rules is significant, but allegations of OVP fund misuse are old news. The prosecution needs a bombshell testimony to sway public opinion, and Lachica could be it.
