High riverine flood to hit Kaduna, Niger, 31 other states in 7 days – NiHSA

The Nigeria Hydrological Services Agency (NiHSA) has forecast a high risk of riverine flooding in Kaduna, Niger and 32 other states between August 19 and 25, 2026.

NSEMA urges the federal government, Kaduna State Government, National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), relevant dam authorities, the Nigerian Hydrological Agency, the Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet), and security agencies to urgently assess the reported cracks.
