Footage has emerged showing the moment two firefighting helicopters collided mid-air while fighting wildfires in Greece.

Emergency services were called after the aircraft collided in the Psatha region, west of Athens.

"Forces were immediately mobilized for a search and rescue operation for the crews, which is underway," the announcement by Greece's fire department read.
