Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said the Opposition’s role is to raise issues in Parliament and the government must respond to them. His remarks came as the Opposition demanded a statement from Union Home Minister Amit Shah over police action against students.

Minister Kiren Rijiju, though, underscored that the Opposition must not create a "hungama (disturbance) during the House proceedings.
