Goa moves Supreme Court to enhance sentence of Tarun Tejpal in 2013 rape case

The State said the sentence was inadequate but clarified that it did not want to challenge or reopen the findings or conclusions on merit recorded by the Bombay High Court in a judgment on August 6

Earlier this month, the Goa Bench of the Bombay High Court overturned a trial court's 2021 acquittal order, convicting the former Tehelka journalist for raping his colleague inside an elevator in 2013 and sending him to jail for 10 years.
