Germany investigates Russia links to weapons cache discovered in woods, reports say

German intelligence believes guns found last year were for carrying out assassinations on behalf of Moscow, reports say.

Germany’s top security official confirmed the discovery of a cache of weapons on the outskirts of Berlin and said authorities are investigating the possible involvement of foreign security agents in a range of planned attacks.

Handguns and ammunition were found in a forest near Berlin last year. German authorities suspect they were to be used for assassinations on behalf of Russian intelligence.
