German rocket reaches space as Europe enters satellite launch race

The uncrewed rocket was the first commercial flight to reach orbit from continental Europe, where several nations say they want a share of a growing market for space missions.

German startup Isar Aerospace on Saturday launched its first rocket into space from a site in Arctic Norway, bringing Europe closer to offering satellite flights from its own soil.

The launch strengthens European space autonomy and security.

Bavaria-based Isar Aerospace managed to launch its Spectrum rocket into orbit, 18 months after its first attempt. This is the first such launch from European soil.

OSLO, Sept 5 : German startup Isar Aerospace launched a space rocket from a site in Arctic Norway on Saturday, bringing Europe closer to offering satellite flights from its own soil.It was not immediately known whether the uncrewed Spectrum rocket would achieve Isar's ambition of becoming the first orbital flight to or
