German police find third drone, explosives after failed airport attack

Leipzig/Halle airport in eastern Germany plays a key role in the transport of military goods, including by the German military and NATO allies, and also serves as a base for Ukraine's Antonov Airlines.

German media say investigators have found a third drone and suspected explosives linked to the Leipzig/Halle Airport incident. DW has the latest.

The drone was found on August 14, 10 days after the incident, to the west of the airport, where investigators also discovered about 50 grams of a substance they suspected to be a military explosive.

An explosives-laden drone was discovered earlier near a Ukrainian Antonov cargo aircraft used for military supplies.
